According to reports, the cost of building a 3D printing post office will come down to less than a quarter. Regarding this, L&T Construction said on Tuesday that it is building the country's first 3D post office in Bengaluru using 3D printing technology.
IIT Madras approves: Regarding 3D post office, the company has said that the project involves designing and building the 1000 sq. ft. Halasuru Post Office using 3D concrete printing technology within 45 days . While the technology has been approved by the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC), the structural design of the post office has been approved by IIT Madras, L&T said in a statement.
According to MV Satheesh, Whole Time Director and Senior Executive Vice President, L&T Construction, the post office is the first public building in Karnataka, which is being built using 3D technology. The project is progressing at a brisk pace and once completed, the building will become a landmark in Bengaluru.
