Maharashtra Bhushan Award to Appasaheb Dharmadhikari to be honored on April 16

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Monday that Appasaheb Dharmadhikari would be honored at a grand function at Corporate Park in Navi Mumbai on April 16. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at the award ceremony.

Maharashtra Bhushan Award to Appasaheb Dharmadhikari to be honored on April 16:-Social activist Appasaheb Dharmadhikari will be honored with the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan Award 2023. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Monday that the award would be presented to Appasaheb Dharmadhikari at a grand ceremony at Corporate Park in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai on April 16. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present at the award ceremony.

Dharmadhikari is a renowned social worker and reformer from Maharashtra. Who has done commendable work against drug addiction in tribal areas along with tree plantation drive, blood donation and medical camps. He was awarded the Padma Shri in the year 2017. Born on May 14, 1946, Dharmadhikari has been working as a social reformer for the last 30 years for eradication of superstition and de-addiction in tribal settlements. Known as the Swachhata Doot, Dharmadhikari had an association with kirtan, bhajan and spirituality since childhood. His father Dr. Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari was also a social worker.

Famous singer Asha Bhosle was honored with the Maharashtra Bhushan Award in the year 2020. Then the Chief Minister of Maharashtra was Uddhav Thackeray. Maharashtra Bhushan is the highest civilian award of the state government. It was started in 1995 by the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition government. Maharashtra Bhushan was given for the first time in 1996. Initially this award was given for contribution in the field of literature, arts, sports and science. Later social work, journalism, public administration and healthcare were also included.
