Morena's Gajak, Gwalior's Carpet and Rewa's Sundarja mangoes became MP's identity, got GI tag:-Along with five handicraft products of Madhya Pradesh, Sundarja Mango of Rewa has got GI tag. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated the people of Morena and Rewa.

Handicraft products of Madhya Pradesh have created a new history. Industry Promotion and Internal Trade of Union Ministry of Commerce has given GI tag to six products of Madhya Pradesh. These include Gond painting of Dindori, Carpet of Gwalior, Batik print of Ujjain, Stone craft of Jabalpur Bhedaghat, Saree of Varasioni of Balaghat and Sunderja Mango of Rewa. This is the first time that so many products of Madhya Pradesh have got GI tag simultaneously. Along with this, the number of GI tagged products has increased to 19 in the state.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Friday that I congratulate the people of Morena and Rewa. Chambal's Gajak and Rewa's Sundarja mangoes have got GI tag. Chambal and Vindhya are developing. The taste of Morena's Gajak is now going to the world and the sweetness of Sundarja is amazing. Now these products will get international recognition.

 Anubha Srivastava, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Khadi Village Industries Board and CEO of Sant Ravidas Handicraft Development Corporation, told that GI tag (Geographical Indications Tag) is a type of level, in which special geographical identity is given to a product. It is decided by the Union Ministry of Commerce. This success has been achieved in coordination with the cottage and village industries department of the state government as well as local producer organizations with the cooperation of NABARD Textile Committee and Ministry of Textiles. On March 31, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Textiles, Piyush Goyal congratulated the country by tweeting on getting 33 GI tags after the Consultative Committee's test.
