This IBCA includes countries where seven animals of the 'Marjar' species - tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, puma, jaguar and cheetah are found. This organization will focus on the conservation and protection of these animals. Along with this, PM Modi released new figures of the number of tigers. Prime Minister Modi said during this program, the success of Project Tiger is a matter of pride not only for India but for the whole world. India has completed 75 years of independence; And also, 75% of the world's tiger population is in India today.

Cheetah was extinct from India
During this, PM Modi said, better future of humanity is possible only when our environment will be safe, our bio-diversity will continue to expand. Along with this, the PM told that the cheetah had become extinct from India decades ago. But we have brought this magnificent Big Cat to India from Namibia and South Africa. This is the first successful trans-continental translocation of a Big Cat. Apart from this, PM Modi told that a few days ago, 4 beautiful cubs were born in Kuno National Park.
Tourism Got a Boost
Due to these Big Cats, the number of tourists has increased in the Tiger Reserve and this has strengthened the local economy. The presence of Big Cats has made a positive impact on the lives and ecology of the local people everywhere.
What is Project Tiger ?
Project Tiger was launched in India on 1 April 1973 to protect the dwindling population of tigers. Initially, 9 tiger reserves spread over 18,278 sq km were included in this scheme. This scheme has expanded in the last 50 years and today their number has increased to 53. These 53 tiger reserves are spread over 75,500 sq km. Kailash Sankhla was the first director of Project Tiger, which started in the Indira Gandhi government. Kailash is also called 'The Tiger Man of India'. Seeing his dedication towards tigers, he was made the first director of Project Tiger.
