Seven days long festival Rongali Bihu will start in Assam from today :-The festival of happiness i.e. Rongali Bihu will start in Assam from Friday. This Bihu is the most important of the three Bihus celebrated in Assam. Vigorous preparations have been made by the administration regarding this festival which lasts for seven days. Let us inform that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stone of many historical projects during his visit to Guwahati on 14th April. For this, extensive preparations have been made by the state government. Prime Minister's visit to Assam will usher in a glorious historical chapter for the state.

A world record for Bihu dance has been set at Sorusjai Stadium on Thursday, whose certificate will be given on Friday in the presence of the Prime Minister. Significantly, Rongali Bihu derives its name from fun and frolic and is literally a festival of joy and a celebration of life. It falls in the first month of the Assamese calendar, Bohag.
